Rates, Contact, and F.A.Q.

Lightray Photography accepts clients on a limited basis. Before hiring any photographer, first ask these questions:

  • What are you looking for? A photoshoot is about you. What do you hope to achieve? Are you trying to create a memory for a special event? Become a model? Create and/or become art? Are you a fashion aficionado and want to show off your brilliant talent?
  • Where do you want to shoot? Somewhere urban: an overpass, abandoned building, rooftop, etc? Or perhaps out in nature: a field, forest, or lake? Maybe you're looking for something dramatic in a hotel or studio setting?
  • What do you want to look like? Do you want to emphasize your personality, some skill you have, or your physique? It may seem like strange question but some people want to look strong while others want to look playful. You set the tone of the shoot.
  • How many photos do you want? Do you want five to ten perfect photos? Or would you rather have fifty+ shots with limited editing?

With the answer to those questions in mind, please inquire about availability:

Q. How much do you charge and how do I hire you?
A. Shoots can be as little as one hundred dollars. Pricing is dependent upon what you're looking for. If you know the answers to the questions above, pleass e-mail me. I'll design a custom shoot and rate, just for you.

Q. What exactly do you mean when you say, 'Lightray Photography accepts clients on a limited basis"?
A. I have limited time and resources. While I attempt to take every opportunity available to me, there are instances when I am unable to provide a client with the experience they're searching for. In that case, I can recommend other talented photographers in the Kansas City area.

Q. Where are you located?
A. I am based in Kansas City but I don't mind traveling for a photoshoot. I've driven North to Lincoln, Nebraska, South to the Ozarks, East to Columbia, Missouri, and West to Topeka, Kansas. If you're unsure whether or not I am willing to travel to you, E-Mail me, and we'll discuss it.

Q. Do you shoot boudoir? I didn't see any on your page.
A. Yes. E-mail me and we'll look through a private portfolio.

Q. Are any of the photos we see on your site available as prints?
A. You can't buy standard portraits of other people from me, but I can always set you up with some of the more artistic shots, the nature images, etc.

Q. Why do you have "lightrayart" as one word? Do you have something against grammar and spelling?
A. Good question. The answer isn't really great: branding. I wanted something easily recognizable and memorable.

Q. Why are you a photographer?
A. I couldn't figure out how to paint.
